Car repair platform ClickMechanic lands $1m

Funding will be used to bolster company's marketing, operations and engineering teams and improve its technology

ClickMechanic, an online marketplace for car mechanics, has closed a $1m funding round led by Forward Partners, alongside 500 Startups and a number of angel investors including Klaus Nyengaard.

Founded by Andrew Jervis and Felix Kenton after Jervis spoke to his mechanic brother about consumer concerns, Startups 100-featured ClickMechanic helps people find fixed price quotes for repair work and book appointments with approved workshops and mechanics.

Customers can also choose to have a mechanic sent out to fix their car at their home or work to avoid an inconvenient trip.

The finance will be used to grow ClickMechanic’s marketing, operations and engineering teams and develop its product.

Jervis said: “We’re using technology to disrupt a service industry which is fundamental to all drivers but also rather archaic and ambiguous in terms of it’s pricing model.

“We’re hugely excited by the difference we can make to the industry and to consumers – this investment will allow us to achieve these innovative ambitions.”

Nic Brisbourne, founding partner at Forward Partners, commented: “We’re very pleased to invest in Jervis, Kenton and the ClickMechanic team. This fundraise underlines the significant future growth potential of ClickMechanic as well as their entrepreneurial prowess.”
