ClickSlide secures seed investment from Ariadne Capital Entrepreneurs fund

Cloud-based website builder set to use funding to boost product development

ClickSlide has successfully closed its seed funding round, securing an undisclosed investment from Ariadne Capital Entrepreneurs (ACE) fund and three angel investors.

Founded in 2011, ClickSlide builds websites that can be viewed from any device. With their latest product ClickSlide Abacus, a cloud-based platform that enables users who lack expertise to programme apps without code due for launch this year, the firm plans to use the investment to fund further product development.

Founded in the UK, ClickSlide currently operates from New York’s tech centre Roosevelt Island, which is due to receive a £6bn funding boost from investors including Microsoft, Google and IBM.

Managed by investment firm Ariadne Capital, the ACE fund invests in innovative early-stage business-to-business (B2B) tech companies.

The fund, which is co-founded by Julie Meyer, announced that it had raised $8.2m at first close to support such businesses in July 2012. Meyer commented on the latest investment from the fund: “When we first met the ClickSlide team we were immediately excited by what they were working on.

“We believe that they’re doing exactly what entrepreneurs should always do – set out to change the world. The technology that Clickslide is developing promises to do just that.”
