Crowdfunding platform Kickstarter launches app for iPhones
Features include location-based pitch suggestions, Facebook synchronisation and real-time pitch updates
Kickstarter, the crowdfunding site for creative projects, has launched an iPhone app to enable start-ups to connect with investors.
Targeted at both pitchers and funders, the free app enables companies to post project updates, such as photos and videos direct to the app to keep funders informed, while also helping start-ups to keep track of the latest pledges of funds.
Synching to Facebook, users can see when friends back a project or launch their own, while the GPS-enabled function offers them the chance to search pitches by location.
Other filters for searching through pitches include popularity and category, which includes creative industries, such as food, music, art and theatre.
Brought to the UK last year, the US-based crowdfunding platform saw £2.1m pledged to UK creative firms from online investors within one month.
