Crowdsourcing app BeMyEye completes €6.5m Series B and major acquisition

Purchase of European rival LocalEyes gives company access to 250,000 customers as it looks to invest in product development and grow overseas

BeMyEye, a London-based mobile crowdsourcing app, has closed a €6.5m Series B funding round from Nauta Capital, P101 and 360 Capital, and announced the acquisition of its competitor LocalEyes.

Founded in 2011 by Gian Luca Petrelli, BeMyEye enables consumers to make money from their smartphones by connecting them with brands looking for location-specific information. This helps brands identify new revenue streams, increase brand awareness and make savings.

Users can volunteer for “micro-jobs” jobs on the free app, earning cash for visiting local stores or points of interest. BeMyEye is connecting people with some major global brands including Coca Cola, P&G, Nestle, Samsung and Heineken.

The funding will fuel product development, double the size of the company’s technology team and boost international growth. BeMyEye’s acquisition of LocalEyes will increase its customer base to 250,000, as it strives for a leading position in the European mobile crowdsourcing market.
