Cupcake Mum secures investment

Addidi Business Angels announces its third investment

Addidi Business Angels, the first-ever female angel investor club, has just completed its third angel investment in Cupcake Mum – a club for mums, mums-to-be, dads and families.

Addidi Business Angels was set up by Anna Safat in 2009 to provide women with the opportunity to pool their financial resources and expertise, and back early-stage business ventures.

Only 5% of business angels are women, and Addidi is geared towards improve female representation within the investor community.

Cupcake Mum, founded in 2005 by Growing Business Young Gun of 2010 Karen Hastings, provides a comfortable, modern space where mums, pregnant women and their families can socialise, attend seminars or take part in fitness classes.

Cupcake currently has three London clubs and plans to use the new six figure investment from Addidi to finance its expansion plans.

Commenting on the investment Sofat said: “I am delighted that we are part of the new club expansion of Cupcake Mum. Karen impressed us with the brand that she has built, and the ability to grow her chain of clubs. As angels, we are all looking forward to supporting her and helping her to succeed,”

Hastings added: “I knew that the Addidi Angels intrinsically understood the challenges of motherhood, and could help us grow the company.  We are delighted to be part of the Addidi investment family.”
