Danish start-up accelerator programme expands to the UK

Start-ups can pitch for up to £400,000 of investment with Accelerace

Denmark-based start-up accelerator programme Accelerace has launched in the UK.

Founded in 2008 the scheme, which is backed by the Danish government, runs three different programmes to support start-ups from the idea stage through to company growth.

The Business Discovery programme helps innovative participants with the development of their business models and products, offering them the chance to pitch for up to £30,000 seed investment from Accelerace members and other investors.

Similarly, early-stage companies can pitch for investments between £100,000 and £400,000 through the Business Start-up scheme, while more developed start-ups are offered growth support through Business Growth, a 12 month intensive programme.

A Business Discovery programme is set to run on Friday November 9 in London, for which tickets are available at a cost of £195. Run by a host of entrepreneurs including Peter Torstensen and Aamir Butt, Accelerace has so far supported over 160 start-ups across a variety of sectors, including low-tech, high-tech, bio-tech and social enterprise.

Aamir Butt, CEO of Accelerace Management International commented: “At Accelerace we teach, consult, coach and do; rolling up our sleeves and working with the businesses hands-on. We also have a fantastic team of mentors, partners and sponsors to provide support.”
