Digital start-ups invited to pitch at No 10 Downing Street

Entries close today for ‘Pitch 10’ event which will showcase Britain’s “most promising” new businesses

10 digital start-ups are being offered the chance to pitch their businesses at No 10 Downing Street to an audience of over 70 investors, financiers and corporate partners, with an alleged addressable market of over £50bn.

The ‘Pitch 10’ event, which will take place at the prime minister’s home next Thursday 10 July, intends to provide a platform to “bring more well-deserved attention to the digital sector” and is looking to identify the UK’s “digital rising stars”.

Entries close tonight at 23:59pm and businesses can nominate themselves to pitch or can be peer nominated with a 250-word description outlining their proposition.

The 10 selected digital companies will then be contacted on Monday 7 July ahead of the inaugural event.

The reasons for the Pitch 10 event were outlined on a statement on its website:

“No 10 Downing Street is incredibly proud of the levels of innovation and success of digital start-ups and enterprise in Britain.

“In an effort to bring more well-deserved attention to the sector and facilitate opportunities between start-ups and prospective partners, it is hosting a showcase of 10 of the most promising companies in Britain.”
