Domino’s franchise marks rapid expansion with 2000th European store opening

New UK outlet to become flagship site for the pizza chain

Global pizza franchise Domino’s will be marking its 2000th European outlet today with a new store opening in Hemel Hempstead. The new UK outlet will be the chain’s landmark site and representatives from Domino’s Pizza Europe, the Middle East and Africa, as well as staff from the UK head office, will be attending the Maylands Avenue opening from 11am to celebrate the growth of the chain’s franchise network. The day is set to see a range of promotions, including a limited number of free pizzas, and there will be involvement from the pizza franchise’s corporate charity Rays of Sunshine. The announcement follows Domino’s recent franchise success after releasing reports which show a major increase in its profits by 10% to £25.7m for the first six months of this year. Discussing the chain’s continued growth, Eric Anderson, Domino’s vice president for EMEA, said: “Since [our first opening in 1960] the business has grown very successfully, now operating in more than 80 global markets.   “To reach our 2000th European store is a real achievement and we are very excited about coming to the UK to celebrate the day in style.”   Arshad Yasin, franchisee for the new Hemel Hempstead outlet, added: “I am delighted that my store has been chosen as the 2000th European store, it is a great honour.” To find out about becoming a franchisee for Domino’s click here.
