Driver Hire, the transport & logistics recruitment franchise, has invested £1m worth of IT and services in its franchise network.

The franchisees will benefit from the development and roll-out of Driver Hire’s new core operations system dhOPS X, as well as the online driving licence verification service dh Licence Check.

Also including a set of e-learning modules for commercial drivers, the new systems will help to create a more integrated service for the company’s customers.

Driver Hire has also announced the appointment of interim IT director John Keelan-Edwards as driver risk management and group technology services director, while former group commercial and sales director at 24/7 Recruitment Andy Hibbert has been appointed as network development director.

Driver Hire claims to have seen an all time record month in September, going on to secure several high profile customers in October.

Chris Chidley, Driver Hire’s CEO, said: “Average rate of turnover at a Driver Hire franchise is already well ahead of the industry average. Our aim is to continue this trend, helping our franchisees to grow their businesses through the development of an even broader range of services which they can offer to clients.

“The appointments of John and Andy will provide higher levels of expertise and support to our network ensuring that franchisees get full value for their franchise fee.”
