Driver Hire franchise announces “record” £78m turnover for 2013

Transport recruitment chain sees growth up by 19% on previous year

Transport and logistics staff supplier Driver Hire has reported “record” figures for the 2013 financial year with its overall turnover totalling £78m, a 19% increase on 2012 and a £1m increase on its “previous best” achieved in 2008.

Celebrating the recent success of its franchises, which are sold for £30,000, the chain announced that 38 of its UK franchise outlets have increased turnover by 25% with 18 of those sites achieving 50% growth or more, and 29 offices passing the £1m turnover mark.

Now in its 30th year of business, Driver Hire claims to be the UK’s largest specialist supplier of staff to the transport and logistics industry, providing temporary and permanent drivers and other logistics staff to the public and private sector.

The transport recruiter also offers CPC training to drivers looking to obtain large goods vehicle licences and says that, over the last year, it has helped around 30,000 drivers to complete the qualification.

The chain is keen to “make a flying start to the new financial year” and aims to build on its average growth over final weeks of the 2013 financial year, which has stood at 27.5%.

Driver Hire group chief executive, Chris Chidley, discussed its “record” figures: “Whilst there’s no doubt that the economy is improving, our rate of growth is easily outpacing it.

“There’s a definite flight to quality with an increasing number of businesses and organisations recognising that Driver Hire is a recruitment agency they can trust – a reliable and compliant nationwide partner for all their staffing needs.

“Breaking the record is a fantastic way to celebrate our 30th year in business.”
