Driver Hire welcomes experienced franchisee

Former café franchise owner and police officer Tom Edwards has joined the logistics recruitment chain

Specialist recruitment franchise Driver Hire has announced the addition of a new franchisee in Sussex, adding to their 100-strong network presence throughout the UK.

Tom Edwards, who previously managed a café franchise before joining the Sussex police force, purchased the Driver Hire franchise at Maidstone and Medway as he missed the challenge of running his own business.

Edwards, who also had experience in road transport, will be adding additional facilities to the main recruitment service offered by his branch, including Driver CPC training and ‘dh Licence Check’, which is an online licence checking service.

Driver Hire provides temporary or permanent drivers and other logistics staff to local and national organisations. It now claims to be the UK’s largest specialist supplier and provider of Driver CPC and additional logistics training.

Edwards spoke about his reasons for joining the leading recruitment franchise:

“I enjoyed the challenge of running my own business and was keen to get back into it. I researched the franchise sales market and found Driver Hire. The more I looked into it, the more I could see that this was a well-structured business.

“There are a whole host of opportunities for me to grow the business further. I’m really looking forward to the challenge.”
