Dropbox launches range of tools to boost teamwork and productivity

Flexible workspace Dropbox Paper acts as a project management tool, while Smart Sync is cross-platform, on-demand cloud storage solution

File-hosting service Dropbox has announced the launch of a range of products designed to help teams improve their collaboration, productivity and creativity.

Similar to team communication tools like Slack, Dropbox Paper is a flexible workspace and project management tool for teams, enabling users to add due dates and assign users to tasks. It also includes a shared space where teams can organise content.

The company has also created Smart Sync – an on-demand cloud storage solution that allows Dropbox users to access all their content from any platform and any file or folder in their account. Alongside the recently released Dropbox team folders, the tool enables teams to collaborate more transparently and efficiently.

Dropbox has also redesigned its website interface to make the separation of personal and work accounts clearer and introduced “collaborator presence avatars” so users can see who has viewed shared documents and when.

Finally, the file-hosting site has launched three new business plans allowing customers to pay for only the features and storage they need, including Standard, Advanced and Enterprise.
