EE brings 4G+ network to central London

Businesses in the capital will be able to access “superfast” data speeds of up to 150 megabits per second

Mobile phone operator EE has announced that its 4G+ network is now live in central London and Canary Wharf, offering businesses with 4G+ enabled devices access to “superfast” data speeds of up to 150 megabits per second (Mbps).

Currently accessible to users with a Samsung S5, Samsung Note 4 and Samsung Alpha, EE’s 4G+ is now available in 150 sites across London and along with “the fastest speeds in the world”, doubles the amount of capacity available to 4GEE customers in the capital.

By April 2015, the phone operator intends to have full 4G+ coverage across Greater London, Birmingham, Liverpool and Manchester.

The announcement also coincides with the news that EE’s 4G coverage is now expanding to its 300th city, Warwick, with more than six million customers now signed up to 4G – said to be the largest 4G network in Europe.

EE CEO, Olaf Swantee, said:

“The UK is now back to being a world leader in mobile. Just two years since we were behind every developed market from the US to Japan, we’ve invested in innovation, driven competition and given people in London a network that’s as fast as any in the world.

“We’ll keep investing to make sure that every person in the UK has access to great mobile technology that can make a real difference to the way they live their digital lives.”
