Email firm bags £1.5m co-investment from Seraphim and MMC

MMC Ventures and Seraphim Capital fund cloud-based business


Cloud-based data storage business KnowledgeMill has picked up £1.5m investment from the Seraphim Capital fund, run by YFM Equity Partners, and MMC Ventures.

The business, founded in 2009, has developed email management software that helps businesses manage documents that are attached to emails. It is popular with legal and professional services firms and is partnered with notable firms such as EMC, Microsoft and Oracle.

Research conducted by the business shows it’s clients save around 45 minutes per person per day as well as 50% savings in infrastructure and email back-up time.

The software integrates with Outlook and, through the cloud, with customer relationship management tools Salesforce and Netsuite.

KnowledgeMill chief executive and co-founder Hisham Anis, said: “Email management is a huge headache for businesses. Our solution enables companies to save considerable time and money on IT infrastructure and staff and improve productivity levels.

“We are excited to partner with YFM Equity Partners and MMC Ventures as we expand our team and invest in marketing our products to a wider number of potential clients”.

Their disruptively priced product offers the potential to democratise email management.”   Peter Norman, former board director at Sophos, will join KnowledgeMill’s board as Executive Chairman.
