eve Sleep raises £6.9m Series B for “world’s most comfortable mattress”

Fast-growing mattress retail start-up is set to launch television advertising campaign on Channel 4 later this week...

Mattress retailer eve Sleep, featured in the top 10 start-ups of 2016, has received £6.9m in Series B funding from Octopus Ventures, DN Capital and Channel 4.

Launched by Jas Bagniewski, Kuba Wieczorek, Felix Lobkowicz and James Fryer in February 2015, eve Sleep develops high quality memory foam-based mattresses, which are delivered direct to consumers doors.

Following a £2.5m Series A round and a £600,000 funding round last year, total investment in the company now stands at £10m.

Already advertising across the London underground network, tube cards and bus shelters, as well as running a radio campaign, Channel 4’s investment will see eve Sleep launch a television advert on the channel later this week.

Bagniewsk commented: “We are delighted to welcome Channel 4 to our investment portfolio. Their backing, alongside Octopus Ventures and DN Capital, is proving transformational for eve Sleep and will allows us to continue our ambitious expansion plans both around across the UK and internationally.”

Vinay Solanki, head of Channel 4’s Commercial Growth Fund, said: “eve Sleep is an exciting business partner for our Commercial Growth Fund as it seeks to disrupt a traditional “try-before-you-buy” retail industry through its innovative digital led model.

“Since launching last year, their impressive growth illustrates their outstanding execution so far and evidences a clear gap in the market.”
