The innovative tech start-up connecting everyday objects to the web
Founders: Niall Murphy, Andy Hobsbawm, Dom Guinard and Vlad Triffa
Launched: October 2012
This forward thinking tech start-up, co-founded by Digital Hall of Fame inductee Andy Hobsbawm (above, left) and Niall Murphy (above, right), who previously co-founded The Cloud thrusts businesses, customers and products straight into the future.
Based on the concept of the Web of Things, EVRYTHNG connects seemingly unresponsive physical objects to the internet.
Providing clients with Active Digital Identities for their products, the company offers a unique interactive marketing strategy, as customers are able to ‘check-in’ to products as they use them.
Using tracking software, EVRYTHNG also provides both product developers and customers with real-time analytical data as products are made, used and sold.
The company, which is backed by Atomico, the venture capital fund set up by Skype founder Niklas Zennstrom, and a host of private investors to the tune of $1m, was recently used by Diageo to allow customers to send online messages via bottles of whiskey.
However, this is just the beginning as far as Hobsbawm is concerned, who foresees products encouraging customers to interact with others who use them and even telling customers how to fix them or use them better.
