Fast-growing start-up Adzuna launches car search engine
More than 250,000 used car ads displayed
Adzuna, the classified search engine named as one of the top 20 start-up companies of 2011 by Startups.co.uk, has announced an expansion into the motoring market.
The company, founded by former Gumtree executives Andrew Hunter (pictured, right) and Doug Monro (pictured, left), has launched a car search engine, Adzuna Cars, which provides details of more than 250,000 used car ads, aggregated from dozens of portals and niche car sites.
Launched last July, Adzuna has already generated £800,000 in investment finance from Index Ventures, The Accelerator Group and Passion Capital, and was profiled as a company to watch by Startups’ sister site Growing Business last year.
The company has thus far focused its search engines on the property and job markets, and the founders are confident their move into the motoring space will realise further growth.
Hunter said: “We’re really excited about launching car search, and we’re particularly proud of the Car Personality Quiz.
“We believe the future of classifieds search is social and personalised… our current tools and algorithms are just the start of where this game-changing technology can go.”
