Final call for entries for Accenture-backed Fintech Innovation Lab

London-based 12 week mentoring programme aims to "accelerate speed of innovation" of young financial technology start-ups across Europe

The Fintech Innovation Lab, the annual start-up accelerator backed by consultancy firm Accenture, is looking for European start-ups “shaking up” financial services to apply to join its latest programme – with just one left week for businesses to enter.

Launched in London in 2012 as a collaboration between Accenture and a group of the world’s leading financial institutions, including Barclays, Morgan Stanley and Goldman Sachs, the Lab is a 12 week mentoring programme which aims to nurture early-stage fintech companies.

It offers a series of panel discussions, workshops, leadership coaching and networking opportunities.

Previous start-ups have which passed through the programme, such as PixelPin and Digital Shadows, have gone on to raise more than $25m in new investment, have signed over 50 contracts to do business with banks, and achieved over 55% staff growth.

Discussing the aims of the Lab, Barclays personal and corporate banking CEO; Ashok Vaswani, commented:
