Online wine business idea

Here’s my idea folks…
So my online wine business would be a site where customers could order different varieties of wine according to the specific taste they would require – so the site would be called createyourownwine or bespoke wines or something along them lines.
Obviously I am aware I would need to partner with a vineyard/winery too so would be a big
venture but just wondering if it’s a worthwhile idea or not.

Everything is worthwhile if you are willing to put in the hard graft and build up contacts and deals with wine suppliers. That is where you are going to have to do the hardest of work.
I presume you know quite a lot about wine? If not, then maybe you should spend a few weeks before doing anything, doing lots of research into Wine and what are good/bad types, what foods they go with, etc. Once you have an incredible knowledge, you can be very focused on how to develop it and which suppliers to go to and do deals with. They will also offer bigger discounts if they can see you are very knowledgeable and know what you are talking about, because this helps them have greater confidence you will shift bigger volumes and therefore worth a bigger discount.
Once you have got a list of wines you want, sorted out how you want people to be able to pick and choose their wines and have a few contacts in place who will supply to you, then start it off by getting your site set up, and start small at first, growing bigger as you make sales and have a business to show off to more suppliers.
Don’t try and do too much at once. Get a nice range but not a vast range of wines, and also consider selling additional things that pair well with Wine, for example, can you sell high end cheese?
Get knowledge, network with suppliers, build the site/business, start small, grow huge!
Apologies for spelling mistakes. I browse the forum in my spare time, on an iPad using fat fingers. Happy to brainstorm any ideas and concepts, even happier if I one day got paid to do it! Just to add on to the back of what FS Paul has said, you will need good knowledge and good suppliers.
Question: Will you just be offering a wine service where customers can choose wines they like, by a series of requirements, and you then find those wines and sell them? Or will the customer get to give a specific taste requirement, you then speak to the suppliers, have the wine made specifically for that individual customer?
The reason I ask is you said the website would be called createyourownwine, or bespoke wines etc. If it is pre-made wine just married up to a customer with a specific taste, I do not see how that is creating your own wine, or bespoke. You do not want to lead customers into thinking you are offering a service, which you do not offer.

During the last few years there has been a huge interest in restaurants that have a new point of view concerning food and drinks, their presentation and preparation. Try to offer people something new, unusual. And most importantly, don’t doubt your own ideas and desires.
