Free pop-up incubator opens in Tech City

London's Old Street tube station will host six day programme of mentorship and advice for aspiring entrepreneurs

Launch22 has opened what is thought to be the world’s first pop-up incubator in Old Street tube station, the heart of London’s Tech City, to encourage entrepreneurship.

Open from 8am-8pm from Tuesday 5 May until Sunday 10 May, the free to access incubator features a co-working space, on site mentors and accountants and lawyers. The space will also host free events in the evening with advice sessions for early-stage entrepreneurs.

Shoreditch-based Launch22 is a social business set up by entrepreneurs to promote and support entrepreneurship to people “from all walks of life”.

Launch22 chief executive, Eddie Holmes, commented: “We believe that entrepreneurship should be accessible to all and that starts with informing people of the support that exists.

“We are very grateful to our partners Startup Direct and Hubble for their commitment to helping aspiring and early-stage entrepreneurs understand the opportunities that London offers to anyone setting up their own business.”

  1. Really interesting. Though I think this kind of initiative should be rolled out across the UK.
