Free software launched to aid small businesses with payroll regulation changes

Start-ups and small businesses encouraged to download software before PAYE changes kick in

IRIS Software group has launched a free software package to enable small businesses and start-ups to submit PAYE in real-time.

New regulations soon to come into force stipulate that business owners are to begin submitting details about employee pay and deductions to HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) each time an employee is paid.

The IRIS real-time information (RTI) software package, called IRIS RTI Payroll Basics, is an updated version of payroll software the company has offered for the past two years. The real-time element has been developed to support small businesses through the changes. Developed by IRIS’ SME division, the software has been approved by HMRC and is now available to small business owners for free, in preparation for the payroll changes which are to come into effect for start-ups in November and other businesses from April 2013.

IRIS Software Group, which claims to have around 30,000 small business customers, also offers RTI training seminars to allow business owners to familiarise themselves with the payroll regulation changes.

Mark Parakeva, CEO of the SME Division at IRIS Software Group commented: “We decided from day one that we would offer a free RTI software package for small SMEs.

“Today, businesses face a range of challenges and RTI does not need to be one of them, which is why we are launching RTI Payroll Basics ahead of the mandated regulations. In addition to the software, we also offer a free RTI advice line and webinar.”
