‘Event tech’ start-up Glisser clinches $1m in seed funding

Interactive presentation technology firm set to fuel growth and open first US base in New York

Glisser, a presentation technology start-up featured as a Just Started business in 2014, has closed $1m in seed funding from Downing Ventures, London Co-Investment Fund and a number of angels.

Founded in 2014, Glisser allows users to create interactive and shareable presentations for presenters and delegates to access event presentations on their smartphones.

The app also features real-time polls, live Q&As, social sharing and likes, with the presenter able to track and collect the data from every attendee to inform useful insights.

Glisser is soon to release a Microsoft PowerPoint add-in enabling users to synchronise with the software through the cloud.

Following an earlier seed round in 2015, this latest finance will fuel growth and the opening of a new US base in New York.

Mike Piddock, CEO of Glisser, commented: “In the last year we’ve grown our corporate client base and made significant improvements in our technology with excellent support from Microsoft. We’ve got a scalable product that’s meeting the demands of presenters and event planners, with an audience of 1.2 billion potential users.

“This funding round means we’re well positioned to build an exciting company over the next 12 months and establish our New York base to meet an increasingly global portfolio of clients.”
