GuestU secures $1.1m seed funding from Portugal Ventures
Apps help hospitality businesses improve guest engagement and targets the 90% of tourists which use personal mobile devices
Pocket concierge service GuestU has raised a $1.1m seed funding round led by Portugal Ventures.
Launched earlier this year by travel entrepreneur Euclides Major, the company provides apps with personalisation algorithms to help hotels, guesthouses, short term rentals and hostels create their own concierge service.
The company has already signed 200 customers in 14 countries, including a number of high end clients such as The Taj in London, Queens Gate Hotel and Feels Like Home apartment rentals.
The finance will be used to support product development and increase the company’s global customer base.
On the investment, GuestU founder Major commented: “We wanted to create an app that would combine the personal experience of a hotelier concierge service with world-class cloud-based technology, and make it as simple for the customer as managing your Facebook page; we believe GuestU does just that.
“Our goal is to become the number one supplier of mobile technology and pocket concierge services to the hospitality trade in Europe and USA, and I am confident that our easy, quick and sophisticated platform combined with our strong team will get us there and beyond.”
