Heritage Healthcare takes on first franchisee

Jameela Rangoonwala takes Cardiff territory for homecare provider

North East-based homecare provider Heritage Healthcare today announced it has taken on its first ever franchisee, after launching its franchise operation in April 2013.

Jameela Rangoonwala, from Wales, has purchased the Cardiff territory from the business, which provides a range of home-based care services to the elderly and others needing support.

As the first of what Heritage claimed were “many more in the pipeline”, Rangoonwala’s duties as franchisee will comprise arranging for trained carers to visit people in their home and assist them with everyday activities on a long- or short-term basis.

Following her purchase of the franchise, Rangoonwala is currently undergoing the registration process with the Care and Social Services Inspectorate Wales (CSSIW).

Heritage Healthcare, originally based in the North East and York region, grew to 210 staff before launching its franchise operation last year to enable accelerated growth.

The addition of Rangoonwala as a franchisee follows what the company called “much hard work promoting, marketing, advertising and exhibiting” its opportunity to potential franchisees.

Michelle Fenwick, director of Heritage Healthcare, said: “I was so pleased to meet Jameela, her husband Yusuf and daughter Zahra at the National Franchise Exhibition in Birmingham last October.

“We had an instant connection which is important when considering a longterm business relationship but I was also very impressed with Jameela’s personality, natural caring nature and her determination to provide the best possible care services to the people of Cardiff.

“All these qualities coupled with excellent management skills and an ambitious business plan, were the perfect combination and exactly what I was looking for from a franchisee.”

Jameela Rangoonwala said: “Heritage Healthcare stood out to me because of its emphasis on quality care, its flexible approach, knowledge and vast experience of the care market. I have already leased my office premises and recruited a Care Manager in preparation for my pending registration.

“I have also enrolled on the Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care Services to increase my knowledge of this vital sector.

“I’m really looking forward to the two week franchisee training course and can’t wait to welcome our first Heritage Healthcare clients.”
