Hiring Hub secures £425,000 from new equity crowdfunding platform VentureFounders

Online recruitment marketplace founded by Young Guns to Watch set for national and international growth

Recruitment marketplace Hiring Hub, founded by 2014 Young Guns to Watch Sara Jones and Simon Swan, has raised £425,000 via UK equity crowfunding platform VentureFounders; the platform’s second successful crowdfunding pitch since launch earlier this year.

Completed within six weeks of its campaign going live, the round attracted 23 investors with investments ranging from £2,500 to £100,000.

Founded in 2010, Startups 100-listed Hiring Hub allows employers to upload their vacancy, set a fixed fee, and approved recruitment agencies from the company’s network then compete to fill the role.

With over 750 recruitment agencies and 400 employers currently listed on its site, the Manchester-based recruitment start-up plans to use the funding to scale up the business with plans for international expansion and tech development.

Hiring Hub co-founder Swan explained:

“We have grown quickly but manageably over the last 12 months and took our time to find the right funding solution. The fundraise will allow us to invest in our core technology, grow our sales team and double marketing efforts in 2015.”

With a goal to make “angel style investing investing in start-ups more affordable and accessible”, VentureFounders co-founder James Codling, commented:

We were drawn to Hiring Hub because of its innovative business model and high calibre management team.

“We believe it will really shake up the recruitment industry in the UK, and beyond.”
