HP launches printer with new mobile capabilities to support small and medium businesses

Colour LaserJet Pro MFP M476 combines smartphone connectivity and touch-to-print technology

Global technology firm HP has announced its latest printer addition, the Color LaserJet Pro MFP M476, with in-built mobile print solutions designed to help meet the needs of small and medium-sized businesses.

Launched yesterday, the LaserJet Pro intends to enable businesses to print or access content “anytime, anywhere” by using near-field communications (NFC) touch-to print functions which allows wireless printing from any device; mobile, tablet or laptop.

Said to have created a “first in mobile innovation”, the product has been certified by mobile-printing organisation Mopria and also offers access to cloud applications such as Box and Google Drive, along with single-pass two-sided scanning, claimed to boost efficiency for companies looking to save time on printing and scanning.

Brian Schmitz, director of future product marketing for LaserJet and Enterprise Solutions at HP, said: “The expectation of today’s business customer is to print securely from any location or device.

“HP remains committed to delivering simple, secured mobile print solutions aimed to help customers solve the mobility challenge of working while in the office or on-the-go.
