HSBC introduces platform to make business loan applications easier

New online service will allow business customers to share, download and electronically sign documents via a shared-screen

A new service that aims to “significantly reduce” the time it takes for business to apply for a loan has been introduced by HSBC.

The HSBC LinkScreen will enable business customers to share, download, electronically sign and send loan documents via a secure shared-screen online platform while simultaneously discussing the application with a bank representative over the phone.

From a recent pilot, HSBC has claimed that the new service has cut average application times “in half” and has said that its service means that business loan and account applications can now be completed entirely online.

Richard Davies, HSBC chief operating officer for UK commercial banking, said:

“The launch of HSBC LinkScreen and the online identification portal are just two examples of the technology we’re introducing to better service our customers, accelerating the speed in which applications are processed so that businesses can spend more time focusing on what is most important – growing their business.”
