Why is she impressive?

Another female entrepreneur who left the corporate world behind, in 2012 Debbie Williamson quit her digital product development role at The Telegraph to co-found Swoon Editions. An e-commerce platform specialising in hand-crafted, low-cost furniture, the start-up business shortens the supply chain by only creating a limited quantity of designs each day. Based on customer demand, the most popular designs then go on to be produced in larger quantities. In just three years, Williamson’s retail offering has received over £5m from VC heavyweights such as Index and Octopus, achieved 300% growth, and now employs almost 60 staff across offices in London, Vietnam, India and China. Williamson took home the prestigious title of Women in Business at the Startups Awards 2015 and Swoon Editions has also received accolades of late such as featuring in City AM’s Leap 100 index.
