Why is she impressive?
Georgina Nelson is a shining example of why you shouldn’t let your business background (or lack of) hold you back from starting up. Despite having no experience in the payments industry, Nelson has created the world’s first mass point-of-payment consumer rating system and has already signed up 150 outlets including The Real Greek and Patisserie Valerie. Launched 18 months ago after identifying a need for a review process that would benefit both businesses and consumers, truRating poses questions to consumers through payments terminals and is fast, simple and anonymous. Already live in the UK and Australia, Nelson and her 51-strong team are looking to pilot the system in the USA and Canada, and more deals are also lined up with top UK retailers and restaurants. Nelson has also caught the eye of investors having raised £4.2m from backers such as Goldman Sachs UK head of investment banking, Anthony Gutman.
