Interior design marketplace Clippings bags £2.8m in Series A

The e-commerce platform will use the funds to further develop its tech and to “revolutionise the interior design industry”

Interior design marketplace Clippings has raised £2.8m in Series A funding from C4 Ventures, group managing director of Time Inc UK Fiona Dent, founding benefactor of the Serpentine Sackler Gallery Spas Roussev, and Simon Clausen, founder of PC-tools.

Founded by Adel Zakout and Tom Mallory in 2014, the e-commerce platform sells a wide range of premium furniture and interior items online.

The London-based start-up, which has achieved has achieved more than 400% year-on-year growth in revenue since its inception, will use the funds to further develop its tech and to “revolutionise the interior design industry”

As part of the investment, C4 Ventures will also join the start-up’s board of directors

Zakout said:

“Today’s interior design industry is fragmented, inefficient and has yet to fully leverage the opportunities that online technology provides. We’re creating a powerful digital platform to disrupt this industry and ultimately create a far better experience for its customers.

“Hundreds of design brands and thousands of customers are already part of the Clippings story and today we’re happy to announce that C4 Ventures is joining us on that journey too.”
