Tell us what your business does:

InVision Media specialises in cost effective video promotions for businesses looking to expand and increase sales growth.

Our core business is TV advertising, our complete production packages include; producing, filming, editing and broadcast of your advertisement.

To supplement this package we include web optimised videos which drive additional traffic to your site and keep your audience captivated in your product or services.

Where did the idea for your business come from?

The business idea came from our love of video production, and previous work experience at an advertising agency.

How did you know there was a market for it?

Most businesses have an interest to expand and improve their brand, and TV marketing is an area that is easily overlooked or branded as too expensive when this isn’t the case.

What were you doing before starting up?

Completing my degree, and agency work experience with my business partner Tom Copsey.

Have you always wanted to run your own business?

We’ve always wanted to form a start-up but never knew what product or service to offer. It was only after my degree when I realised that I had the skills and expertise to make these productions and get them broadcast that I felt confident to go for it.

How did you raise the money?

Savings from previous work and a low cost start-up strategy.

What challenges have you faced and how have you overcome them?

Our biggest challenge was marketing ourselves and finding a good customer base for our services. We’ve overcome this by attending exhibitions, marketing events and speaking to just about everyone we come across.

Describe your business model and how you make money:

Our work is contract driven. Our client pays a small payment to action the production of their commercial. Once the commercial has been edited, delivered and the client is satisfied, they pay the remainder of the package cost which gets them broadcast on TV.

What was your first big breakthrough?

Our first big breakthrough was securing a contract just before the Christmas period 2013.

What advice would you give to budding entrepreneurs?

If you have an idea or there’s something you enjoy doing then go for it, do what you love, offer it as a service to people. One of my biggest concerns about starting up was having a non-regular income, but if you work hard you’ll soon realise that money isn’t the key to happiness.

Where do you want to be in five years’ time?

We’d like to be the pioneers of a new form of visual and highly accessible advertising.
