James Caan announces funding opportunities for budding recruitment businesses

Dragon’s venture capital firm Recruitment Entrepreneur on hunt to find start-ups looking to “build real capital value” with up to £500,000 on offer

James Caan has announced that his venture capital firm Recruitment Entrepreneur has re-opened applications for its seed fund, with up to £500,000 funding available to individuals looking to start or grow a recruitment business “of scale”.

Launched last year, Recruitment Entrepreneur claims to be the “fastest growing” recruitment seed capital fund in the UK having already invested over £2m in eight start-ups.

Its most recent investment was in the newly formed Hanami International; an audit and finance recruitment company which launched in June 2014 and has grown to a team of 11, with over £100,000 generated in fees.

Former Dragons’ Den star Caan is keen for this latest tranche of funding to build on past success having received over 1,500 applications and viewed over 200 pitches during the previous funding rounds, and is looking to identify people who want to build “real capital value for themselves”.

Recruitment Entrepreneur founder, Caan, commented: “What we’re seeing is a renewed confidence amongst people that want to become their own boss.

“Experienced recruiters who have a passion for their industry and solid business acumen now recognise the opportunities available to them. We’re currently backing a new business every month, which is a fantastic rate in any industry.

“I think what makes Recruitment Entrepreneur so appealing is that we don’t just offer capital. We offer support and mentorship in every single area of business – for example marketing, finance, legal and IT – leaving the entrepreneurs free to do what they do best which is growing their business.”
