James Caan’s firm to invest in IT recruitment consultancy

Investee hopes to reach £30m turnover within two years

Hamilton Bradshaw, the private equity firm run by former Dragons’ Den star James Caan, is to invest in IT recruitment consultancy Timothy James Consulting (TJC).

Established in 2003, TJC now boasts three offices, in London, Bristol and Manchester. The company is currently turning over £17m, and this figure is forecast to reach £30m within the next two years.

Under the terms of the deal, Chris O’Connell, co-founder of TJC, will maintain day-to-day control of the business as CEO. Hamilton Bradshaw’s chief investment officer Deepak Jalan will take a seat on the board, with a view to expanding the business with his specialist knowledge of finance and structuring.

Discussing the new investment, James Caan said: “TJC has an excellent management team with an outstanding reputation in its sector. I am continually looking for exceptional companies who want to scale their business to become market leaders and TJC is no exception.”

Chris O’Connell added that Hamilton Bradshaw “don’t just bring capital, they also bring an incredibly talented team who will support the business to achieve its ambition to become the number one in its field”.
