Jinn app bags $7.5m to “bring any item straight to your door”

London-based on-demand start-up offers a 24/7 service letting you order anything locally for delivery and claims to have achieved 30% month-on-month growth of late

With interest for on-demand services growing at a rapid pace, London start-up Jinn app has this week secured a $7.5m Series A round to enable more people to use its door-to-door delivery service.

New venture capital firm Samaipata Ventures,  Elderstreet, Bull Partners backed the round, alongside existing investors.

Launched in April 2014, Jinn is a 24/7 app which enables you to order “any item” – not just food- from any local restaurant or shop and promises to have it delivered in under an hour for a fixed fee.

With operations in London and Manchester, the company claims to have achieved monthly growth of 30% with customers ordering on average once a week.

It will use the investment, which follows a £1m seed round in October of last year, to expand to more cities and to launch into Southern Europe.
