Kelly Hoppen named as Hilary Devey’s replacement on Dragons’ Den

Interior designer to the stars set to join panel of wealthy entrepreneur-investors for the 11th series

Kelly Hoppen, the founder of Kelly Hoppen Interiors has been signed as the newest Dragon for the popular BBC show Dragons’ Den.

She is the first entrepreneur to be recruited following the recent exit of Dragons’ Den veteran Theo Paphitis and the departure of freight logistics entrepreneur Hilary Devey in 2012.

Having started interior designing at the age of 16, Hoppen was awarded an MBE in 2009 for her services to interior design.

The entrepreneur, who has worked on projects including yachts, jets and homes for celebrity clients such as David and Victoria Beckham and Elton John, also runs a design school, which she launched in 2003.

Hoppen commented: “I have always been passionate about championing entrepreneurs, so being able to take it to the next level by investing my money in innovative new businesses is very exciting.”

The BBC is still on the lookout for would-be entrepreneurs to pitch for the Dragons on the 11th series of the show and is yet to reveal the Dragon lining up to fill the void left by Paphitis’ departure.
