Young Gun-founded Limelight PR acquired by communications agency Acceleris
25-strong company’s Harrogate, London, and Dubai offices will operate under existing names but work together as one business
Limelight PR, the communications agency founded by Young Gun Susanna Simpson, has been acquired by communications agency Acceleris.
Founded in 2002, Limelight PR specialises in business-to-business public relations and communications across a number of channels.
This includes on-going media relations with credible journalists, creating and delivering multi-channel content and personal branding for its clients through its branding programme The Brand You.
It focuses on people and organisations that “really make a difference to the world” and counts the likes of Telefónica, Acxiom, St Ives Group and Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles amongst its high-profile clients.
Since her inclusion in the Young Gun index in 2009, Simpson has taken Limelight to Dubai (where it won best new PR agency in the region in 2012), and launched Limelight Travel & Lifestyle to provide PR services to hotels, resorts and tourist boards. In 2015, alongside Gordon Christiansen, she started Creative Business Leaders: an online community for the creative industries.
Harrogate-based Acceleris is a reputation management agency specialising in “multi-discipline” campaigns across niche sectors.
All three offices (Harrogate, London, and Dubai) will continue to operate under their existing names but work together as one business with Louise Vaughan – managing director of Acceleris – heading up the new agency.
The combined agency has 25 employees and will specialise in transport and logistics, tech, business and professional services, maritime, health and wellness and transport.
As a part of the deal, Simpson has become a shareholder in Acceleris and has joined the board.
Simpson commented: “Acceleris acquiring Limelight will help my team and me to take a real step up in terms of what we can offer our clients and our employees.
“The additional resources and skills provided by Acceleris and its experienced board will enable us to significantly grow and achieve greater ambitions for our clients and ourselves. I am very proud of our past, but more excited for our future.”
Vaughan added: “There is a fantastic synergy between the two agencies in terms of reputation, ambition, quality of work, client service standards and culture that makes this such a compelling deal.
“We are confident that bringing these award-winning agencies together will accelerate growth and create positive benefits for our clients and staff alike.”
