Liquid Accounts

The company that enables you to securely access your accounts on the web

Who are you?

Liquid Accounts is a pioneer of the UK online (cloud) accounting software industry. Our team has over 30 years’ experience in software development; and around 50 years’ experience of running businesses. The software was written by two of the founders, Jon Wright and Matt Holmes. Liquid’s MD Holmes is also chair of the BASDA (British Application Software Developers Association) Special Interests Group for Cloud Computing.

What do you do?

Liquid provides flexible, easy-to-use, jargon-free online accounting software that allows any business to manage their accounts from any location with an internet connection. The multi-user login means more than one person can log into the accounts at any time and access the same up-to-date figures, making it easy for firms to liaise with their accountant or bookkeeper, without the need to store back-ups and transfer data.

What does that mean in practice?

The whole accounting process is much easier, as your accountant or bookkeeper can access the same information that you are viewing, and offer remote assistance in your financial management.

What size company suits you?

Liquid’s software suits businesses of all sizes, as the package is completely scalable and customisable to the customer’s needs. For example, if a company operates internationally, they may choose to switch on the multi-currency application. Users can turn applications on and off, as and when they need them, meaning they are not paying for functions they don’t need. We have large multinationals using our software, as well as small local firms.

Why should I care?

With more and more business activity being sourced online, it is much easier to make the switch to cloud computing now, and get a head start on competition that is still using traditional, offline software. We believe Liquid is much better value too, with back-ups, support and automatic upgrades all included in the price. The fact that Liquid allows firms to interact with their accountants means they can keep a detailed track of their accounts, rather than waiting for the year-end to organise the figures. It is crucial, especially in times of economic uncertainty, for businesses to pay attention to their finances, especially managing cashflow and credit control.

What can you do for me that I can’t do for myself?

Statistics prove that businesses that use proper accounting software to manage their finances are more likely to succeed than those that use basic techniques such as spreadsheets. Liquid’s jargon-free terminology makes it easy to understand for those with limited accounting experience.

What mistakes will you stop me from making?

Many business owners leave their accounting to the year-end, by which time their accounts are in a mess and take more effort to correct. By using Liquid, you are able to manage your accounts throughout the year, resulting in a stress-free year-end.

Can you give me an example?

Regular billing of clients improves cashflow. Being able to produce a professional looking invoice in seconds means that there’s no reason to leave it until the month-end and it also prevents that dreaded billing day when you struggle to remember who owes you money.

Why should I trust you?

Liquid has been providing online accounting software for longer than most other providers. This has allowed us to gain a greater knowledge of what our customers’ concerns and requirements are. We pride ourselves on having one of the most secure packages on the market, with a unique URL for each user and a secure case-sensitive, five-part user login. You can also sign up for a free 30-day trial via our website.

How much does it cost?

Our business package costs £20 per month, with the option of adding additional features for small extra monthly charges. We also offer a free ‘Client Manager’ package for accountants and bookkeepers to manage their clients’ accounts.
