Lloyds launches “25th Hour” competition to reward one UK start-up with £10,000

25 October deadline for quick-entry Twitter competition

Lloyd’s Bank today announced the launch of a new competition for UK start-ups, set to reward one winner with £10,000 to grow their business.

The “25th Hour” competition was launched in recognition of the clocks going back on 26 October, which the high-street bank said would give businesses an extra hour to benefit themselves.

It is offering £10,000 to one entrant who explains to Lloyds how they would spend this extra time to benefit their business – for example, launching a new website, updating a social media campaign or promoting a new product.

The prize money is intended to help start-ups achieve this stated goal.

Entries are being accepted via Twitter, using the hashtag #LB25thhour. Lloyds said the winner would be selected based on the “likely positive impact” the money would have on their business.

The competition closes at 11.59pm on Saturday 25 October, and the winner will be contacted on Twitter within two weeks of closing.
