London’s first-ever ‘FinTech festival’ set for launch

Three-day event will bring together business leaders and investors in sector for programme of events

Investors and entrepreneurs in the financial technology sector are gearing up for the first ever FinTech City London event.

Set to run from 21-23 January, the three-day programme of events will be held across key financial and tech innovation centres in London, including the City of London, Canary Wharf and Shoreditch.

The programme will take in talks, networking and leadership events on subjects such as funding, growth and legal challenges for FinTech businesses.

The launch event, City Futures, will take place at Guildhall on Tuesday 21st January and will be a debate from an ‘expert panel’ of banking, technology and media brands to discuss London’s leading role in the financial services industry and how FinTech is shaping its future.

As part of the FinTech City initiative, the latest FinTech 50 list will also be announced on the final day of the event, profiling the 50 financial technology businesses across Europe with the most potential.

The competition’s organisers, which include corporate finance firm ICON and PR agency Hotwire, said that the initiative would also offer FinTech firms a free 30-minute specialist consultation from a business expert on Thursday 23 January.
