Lystable raises undisclosed capital from PayPal co-founder Max Levchin

Staff management platform bags new funding months after landing an $11m Series A led by other PayPal co-founder Peter Thiel’s Valar Ventures

Staff management platform Lystable has secured funding from PayPal co-founder Max Levchin’s Hard Valuable Fun (HFV) lab just months after raising an $11m Series A from Peter Thiel’s Valar Ventures.

Launched in 2014 by former Google designer Peter Johnston, London-based Lystable provides software to help companies manage their freelance and contract workers.

Total funding in the company now stands at $15m after a $3.5m round led by Thiel last December. This latest round also saw participation from New York-based LeFrak.

Levchin commented: “We have seen the rapid growth of freelancer marketplaces already make a dent in the traditional recruitment and staffing agency space; but really embracing these workers becomes harder for any company as it scales – let alone big corporations.”
