Mac Tools franchisee takes the driver’s seat and finds success in just 12 months

Since entering the world of franchising, David Bancroft has had to expand his business in order to cope with increasing sales and a growing customer list

Mac Tools franchisee David Bancroft is celebrating his decision to quit his job and become a franchisee after revealing that he has scaled his business to 25 customers a day, just one year after joining the tool distributor chain.

Bancroft, who joined Mac Tools in November 2015, has said that he attributes this early success to his 30 years of experience in the motor trade – during which he became familiar with automotive equipment and the Mac Tools brand.

Launched in the UK in 1990, Mac Tools manufactures automotive tools and equipment which are exclusively available through its sales force of mobile franchisees.

The franchise claims to have enjoyed 25% year-on-year growth over the past three years.

On his franchise experience, Bancroft said: “I don’t have the responsibility of a workshop full of staff anymore. I am only responsible for myself and my actions and I am now fully in charge of my destiny which is fantastic.”

He also advised those considering becoming a franchisee: “Don’t expect a get rich quick scheme; it takes time to build the business and lots of hard work. However, […] the rewards are worth it.”
