Manchester selected as venue for leading entrepreneurship event

Small Business and Entrepreneurship Conference to host delegates from 40 countries

The Small Business and Entrepreneurship Conference (ISBE) today announced its annual event will be held at the Manchester Conference Centre in November, bringing together delegates from around the world.

Now entering its 37th year, the ISBE will see entrepreneurs, academics and policymakers come together for a two-day conference held on 5-6 November.

ISBE’s organisers claim the event will attract more than 400 delegates from around 40 countries who will host around 250 individual presentations on topics ranging from business research to best practice.

ISBE said the choice of venue reflected Manchester’s status as the UK’s second city, in addition to its growing profile in the digital media sector and its reputation as a student hub.

In addition to the main event at the Manchester Conference Centre, there will be a drinks reception at Manchester Town Hall and a gala dinner at the Imperial War Museum North.

Paula Turner, chair of the conference organising committee and the deputy director of Manchester Metropolitan University for Enterprise, said: “We’re very proud to host the 37th ISBE Conference in Manchester.

“We’re currently finalising a stellar line up of keynote international speakers, including a number of North West-based entrepreneurs who are succeeding globally.”

Also taking place in the North West is the International Festival for Business, set to be held in Liverpool across June and July.

It is expected to attract more than 250,000 visitors, giving entrepreneurs, policy makers and investors around the world the opportunity to learn new skills and network.
