Meal planning website ‘Sian’s Plan’ closes £100,000 Seedrs pitch

Irish healthy eating platform to use crowdfunding to support UK launch

“Revolutionary” meal planning site Sian’s Plan has raised £101,490 investment through equity crowdfunding platform Seedrs to fuel its UK launch.

154 “armchair investors” backed the oversubscribed campaign in return for a share of 12.5% equity to help develop the service.

Founded in 2012, Belfast- based Sian’s Plan is an online meal planner which provides recipes and an automatic list of necessary ingredients which can be linked to Tesco, Waitrose and all major supermarket’s online platforms, purchased and delivered directly to the shopper’s door.

It claims its site helps families and individuals to prepare “healthy, affordable, fuss-free meals” from home whilst saving “four and a half hours a week” of time spent in the kitchen and “at least £700” a year on food costs.

Following its successful launch in Ireland where it has attracted 5,000 subscribers, the meal planning platform intends to  put the finance towards “development of the brand, marketing and enabling the service to reach the widest audience possible” by launching across Britain.

The latest investment builds on a £250,000 seed round in the meal nutrition site led by angel network Halo NI last year.

Sian’s Plan co-founder and company namesake, Sian Breslin, commented:

“Sian’s Plan offered an exciting opportunity for individuals to invest in a disruptive new service that will revolutionise the way British consumers approach home cooking and grocery shopping.

“We created the website to help households eat healthily, save money and reduce food waste through an affordable service that easily integrates into the daily routine of life.”
