Mobile Safety Solutions backed by the YHEF

The YFM managed Yorkshire fund backs the mobile worker software company

Mobile Safety Solutions (MSS) has gained backing from the Yorkshire & Humber Equity Fund (YHEF).

The Wetherby-based company was formed in 2006 by Brian Alsford, Tony Preston and Nick Barr in order to provide web-based software for mobile workers.

Its most regular users are inspectors or surveyors who need to record data while on site and benefit from the advantages which are provided by the real time capture and processing of the information.

However, despite its niche offering, the business has grown quickly and it growing order book and existing relationships has led it to an undisclosed sum from the YHEF, which is managed by the YFM Group.

“We have developed a proven proposition which is providing our customers with real cost savings and significant working efficiencies,” said Alsford.

“Our software has many applications beyond Health & Safety and increasingly our customers are expanding its use to different areas within their businesses.

“We are very pleased to have secured an investment from YFM and we are glad that we now have a funding partner on board who understands the market opportunity and can help us to achieve our plans for expansion.”
