NatWest launches £100m franchise fund

A new £100m franchise fund has been created to encourage more people to get into franchising.

The fund, set up by NatWest, is specifically aimed at people trying to secure finance to by a franchise business and has been endorsed by the British Franchise Association (bfa). It offers a package including reduced fees, payment holidays and two years’ free business banking.

The most recent NatWest and bfa survey into the sector found that 88% of all franchise businesses were trading profitably in 2009 and the industry is worth a total £11.9bn.

This year’s British & International Franchise Exhibition will take place Olympia, London on Friday 18 and Saturday 19 March. Anyone considering purchasing a franchise will have access to 120 franchise companies at the show.

There will be also be presentations from NatWest, as well as other major franchise banks including Lloyds TSB Commercial and HSBC.
