New female-focused franchise awards launched

Workingmums.co.uk has announced the launch of its new awards to “recognise franchisors who have empowered women in business”

Job and community platform Workingmums.co.uk has announced the launch of its first Top Franchise Awards in partnership with LawBite.

The website is launching the awards in order to highlight the large and small franchises that are helping working mothers take a step into business. The online ceremony will take place in May and will include a Q&A and networking.

There are six categories to enter, which include: supportive franchisor,  family friendly franchise, the continuous improvement award, the best newcomer, top overall franchise and finally franchise of the year – voted for the by the public.

Entries are now open until the start of March and finalists will be judged by a panel of entrepreneurs and investors, including Apprentice winner and business owner Yasmina Siadatan, Workingmums.co.uk founder Gillian Nissim and Deepali Nangia, investment director at Wild Blue Cohort.

Gillian Nissim, the founder of Workingmums.co.uk, commented:

“We are delighted to be launching our Top Franchise Awards. The Awards affirm the growing number of parents who are looking towards self-employment for greater flexibility and new challenges which fit around their families.

“The best franchises offer both the benefits of self-employment, but without some of the risks associated with striking out completely on your own, since franchisors have already demonstrated the viability of their business models.”
