New online platform to boost small business exports

UK Trade & Investment among Cityblis’ backers

A new platform to help small businesses reach overseas consumers has launched to the acclaim of international government bodies.

UK Trade & Investment is among the organisations that have pledged their support to, in its mission to increase exports for small and start-up firms.

The ecommerce and marketing platform seeks to simplify international trade for small businesses by negotiating preferential rates with logistics companies, and enabling international customers to buy direct from store owners. It also provides a series of online marketing and other business tools.

Despite requiring users to log in, full access is free and the company takes no fee or commission for the services it provides.

The global initiative has the backing of the EU’s Development Association, Swedish Growth Organizations and the US Small Business Development Center.

Although the platform has initially been restricted to the clothing and apparel industry, Cityblis is already being called upon by its backers to expand into other sectors.

Explaining the company’s mission, Christopher Price, COO of Cityblis, said: “We are empowering small businesses to build brands.

Building a website for your business idea is easier than you might think. Our online tool ranks the top website builders that offer free trials.

“Cityblis is working to remove business barriers, to make international trade more accessible to every small business.”
