Co-working space for ‘budding entrepreneurs’ opens in Covent Garden

Co-launched by Ollie Forsyth and starting from £50 a month, Haus offers wannabe business owners workspace from 9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday

Haus, a new 10,000 sq ft co-working space for “budding entrepreneurs”, has launched in Covent Garden.

Operating in nightclubs and restaurants that are bustling at night yet closed during the day, individuals can buy monthly membership for £50, with day membership costing £20, and guests £5 per hour.

Paid members are given access to the workspace from 9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday, with WiFi, an on-site host, weekly networking events, and snacks and drinks also included.

Launched by Ollie Forsyth and Kani Rayev, who are just 19 and 22 respectively, the pair only met last month and within two weeks decided they would become business partners.

Originally founded by Rayev, the Kyrgyz Republic-born entrepreneur manages the operational side of the business – while Forsyth handles the commercial arm.

Featured as one of our Young entrepreneurs, Forsyth left school at 16 as he struggled with dyslexia and was bullied.

Branded a “failure” after quitting education with no qualifications to his name, the teenager now has four ventures under his belt and previously told Startups he wants to be a millionaire by the time he is 20.

Last September, he launched The Budding Entrepreneur (TBE) Club, an exclusive members network that holds networking events, workshops and panel discussions from some of the UK's best-known entrepreneurs – while his online magazine The Budding Entrepreneur Magazine offers tips, news and resources for start-ups.

Haus will hold its official launch night on 20 September 2017 at 7.00pm with Sir Charles Dunstone, founder of  The Carphone Warehouse and TalkTalk, a special guest speaker on the night.

The event is free for members, and £25 for non-members, with tickets available on Eventbrite.

Speaking exclusively to Startups about the opening and plans for expansion, Forsyth said:

“We want our membership to be affordable to all whilst building the best entrepreneurs community for our members. We have very ambitious plans to scale fast, we already have a lot of interest from investors, and the future is very exciting.

“We aim to be in a number of locations by the end of the year with many more opening next year. We have another location lined up, a 15,000 sq ft building which is due to open in the next few months.”
