Nutmeg and Cocoon among 12 digital start-ups chosen to pitch at Number 10
Businesses will present to audience of industry leaders including Eileen Burbidge and Gerard Grech for second year of Pitch 10 competition
12 of the UK’s “most exciting” digital start-ups have been selected to pitch their businesses at Number 10 Downing Street, with Young-Gun founded Nutmeg, Startups Top 20 Cocoon, and Tech Pitch start-up Veeqo among this year’s Pitch 10 competition winners.
“Shining a spotlight on the breadth of innovation in the UK”, Pitch 10 launched last year as an initiative to help connect early-stage growth businesses with prospective partners. The inaugural event played host to pitches from companies such as TransferWise and Huddle.
The companies chosen for this year’s Pitch 10, produced in association with Tech City UK and Tech Nation, were selected by a panel of industry experts including Eileen Burbidge of Passion Capital, Gerard Grech of Tech City UK, and Baroness Martha Lane-Fox; co-founder of Lastminute.com and the quality of entrants was said to be so high that 12 businesses were chosen instead of 10.
The pitches will take place at Number 10 this Friday 20 February with businesses presenting to an audience of UK investors and policy makers.
Selected from across the UK, the Pitch 10 competition winners are:
- Big Data 4 Humans
- Titan IC
Eileen Burbidge commented: “After the success of our first Pitch 10 event, the quality of the companies applying has been consistently high. In this year’s event it’s fantastic to see such a strong spread of digital businesses.”
