Online menswear retailer The Idle Man clinches £1.4m in funding

London-based company plans to develop own fashion range and expand 20-strong team

The Idle Man, a menswear e-commerce site, has secured £1.4m in funding led by Foresight Group, as well as number of angels including founder of Thomas Pink Peter Mullen.

Founded in 2014 by Oliver Tezcan, The Idle Man sells a range of men’s designer clothes through its website including Calvin Klein, Dickies, Levi’s and Timberland.

The London-based company claims to have seen 150% growth recently as it seeks to offer an alternative to rival sites at the luxury end of the fashion market.

The funding will be used to build The Idle Man’s own fashion range, ramp up marketing and expand its 20-strong team.

Tezcan said: “Men are more interested than ever in fashion. The growth potential is huge for whoever can create a retail experience that meets their needs. That has never really been done before but the mission of The Idle Man is to change that.”
